Mothers Day Out

Jake started a two day a week Mothers Day Out Program last September at Hunter Street Baptist Church.

At first I felt bad for dropping him off for a few hours to run errands but as he got into the program & I got to know the teachers and his classmates & I truly loved every minute of it, and so did Jake.

I couldn't have ask for sweeter teachers for him.

They taught him so much in just 8 months.

Jake was the last in his class to walk but when he did we all applauded him.

Ms. Mary and Ms. Kelly were wonderful to him & we will miss them terribly.

Jake became friends with his classmates. He would try and say there names as we drove up and it was so cute.

He learned so many things this year & I am so thankful for the time we had at Hunter Street!

Here is a picture of his first day of MDO

Here is a picture of his fall school picture!

Here is a picture of his Spring picture! He grew a lot!

And his last day of MDO

Thank you Hunter Street for a great year!

Spring

We're loving all things Spring around our home.

Our trees & plants are blooming!

We had a few flower boxes made too for a few windows.

I attempted to plant some flowers & herbs in them, not sure if I did such a good job but it was fun.

I know Jake will enjoy looking out his favorite window to new flowers, some that attract butterflies.

18 Month Well Check Up

Jake had his 18 month check up today. We had conflicts on scheduling so he actually is 19 months during his 18 month check up.

Jake is such a good toddler - except for the fits when he is told to come inside. The boy could literally live outside - typical boy I guess.

He is so much more verbal & aware of his surroundings. I can ask him to do something for me & sometimes he does.

He eats great & sleeps even better. He must get that from his mom. I was & still am a huge fan of naps.

I love him more & more every single day.

I am no longer mama to Jake, I am mommy.

I took a few pictures of him on his 18 month check up day.

Pediatrician Report
Jake is in the 75% for height - 33 1/2 inches
He is 25% in weight - 24 pounds
and is in the 50% for head circumference - 18 3/4 inches

We also are scheduling Jake to have tubes put in. He has battled on & off since he was born with ear infections. Instead of continuing antibiotics & not truly knowing if fluid is gone away the best for him is tubes.

Happy 19 months Jacob Cole Clark!

Eating his 1st breakfast bar & loved it all!

He loves to wear a hat like daddy!

Loves any type of ball

He also enjoys playing with his laptop when we're waiting to see the doctor.

Boy does the child love a PB&J!

A day for "even more" Love

Some people snub at Valentine's Day. My husband being one of them. His mentality is "why should just this one Hallmark day mean I have to show you how much I love you?!?" I can see where he's coming from BUT it is nice to exchange a little something & make this day special.

Holidays are different now that we have Jake. They are even more meaningful.

I enjoy teaching him about holidays. Its fun for me.

Jake is now 18 months old & is beginning to be more involved.

We invited a few close friends over to have a party by making homemade cards for our family.

Jake brought home many goodies from his friends @ school!

Growing up my mother started a tradition of giving my sister & I a new bathing suit for the summer for Valentine's Day. So, I have carried that tradition on in my family.

Jared was so thoughtful to get me flowers....

Grill us a yummo steak....

& my favorite gift, tickets to our church's Marriage Conference this month!

Playdates

These last few weeks while school has been out during the holidays we have planned many playdates to keep ourselves busy. Jake gets bored real quick at home so we go out a lot.

I'm so fortunate to have friends with kids the same age as Jake.

We met Andrea, Knox, Keri & Sam @ The McWane Center to play & have lunch.

We had fun!

We got a special treat when my good friend, Brooke Kitchell & her newest addition stopped by to visit while they were in town from Charleston for Christmas. Thorne is now 5 months old.

It was SO good to see them. Brooke & I became very close friends back several years ago when we worked together @ Sprint Nextel. She is a very good friend who I miss dearly.

And yes...thoughts ran through my head getting baby fever while holding this bundle of joy!

One of my friends from back home that I'm so happy we keep in touch has been asking us to come for a playdate with her son Bryson who is 2 & her daughter Ansley Kate that is 4. We woke up early to head home to see them & boy was it a blast! Jake had so much fun! Katie in my book is the ultimate super mom! She is a special ed teacher @ Gadsden City & works full time. She always has the smartest parenting ideas. I learn a lot from her. She's amazing & beautiful on the inside & out. Katie was so sweet to host us at her home. She made all of us homemade chicken noodle soup. We will definitely be back again to play.

Oh yeah! We sang karaoke! Get it Katie! :-)

Ansley Kate had two of her cousins over & they put on a show for us! It was so much fun!

This next picture was the last time the boys played together @ Bryson's 1st birthday!

Here is now.....

Thank you Katie for having us & loving on my sweet Jake!

I think Jake enjoyed himself & Bryson!
